The operating system functions as the main overseer of the computers operations. Operating systems also act as the system that stores and retrieves files. I thought of a couple of people and places at Hope College that can be compared to these operating systems.
First off the Hope admissions office can be compared to a operating system because they store all of the student admission files in their systems and store everything there. During my senior year of high school the admissions office was always sending me letters in the mail. It probably takes a lot of effort from the office as a group to sort all of that out and send it to the correct location.
I also think that our head football coach, Coach Kreps, can also be compared to an operating system. Coach Kreps is always giving commands to both the assissant coaches and the players all the time. He is just like an operating system because operating systems are always sending instructions to the rest of the computer, just like Coach Kreps is to the entire football team.
