Chapter 2

The material in chapter two, “CPU basics” have three parts. 1. Arithmetic/logic unit, which contains the circuitry that performs operations on data (such as addition and subtraction). 2. The control unit, which contains the circuitry for coordinating the machine’s activities. 3. Register unit, which contains data storage cells (similar to main memory cells), called registers, that are used for temporary storage of information within the CPU. This reminds me of my soccer team. There are all different parts/roles that each player on the team have. That arithmetic/logic unit is like all of us players that performs the operations of the of the performance of soccer on the field. Then the control unit would be like our coaches who tell us what to do. They control who plays and where we play and how much time we play. Then the register unit would be all the managers and the people behind the scenes that do so much for our soccer team. and together we are all connected to the main memory which in soccer would be like our main goal that we are working to achieve why we are there all the time.
