Chapter 4 was a very personal chapter I felt like. Mainly talking about networks and how they are combine computers to other computers. These allow for the sharing of messages and directions, along with different resources. Networks are relateable to many things. For instance, class lectures are similar to lectures in the essence that professors relay messages through words that we as students listen to, thus sharing resources in a verbal communication form.
Also, in class we also talked about being on the Hope LAN, either through ethernet capabilities or wireless capabilities. This is one large networks that professors and students share alike at Hope. Sometimes the internet is faster than others, depending on how many people are using it at that time. Just like in life instances, the shorter the resource availability the shorter time allocated to completing that task.
A network is also comparable to a team setting. Take basketball for exactly, the coach often relays the message to the point guard, then he relays that play to the rest of the team on the floor, and then the players run that play. Through sharing resources of knowledge and memorization, the team is able to effectively run the message that the coach has called. This is very similar to what and how a network effectively works.
